Details have now been released for this year's Record Store Day, the annual celebration of independent record shops across the world. We will of course be taking part again.
Due to the pandemic, this year’s celebrations will take place across two Record Store Day “Drops” on Saturday 12th June and Saturday 17th July.
Hundreds of artists and record labels have come together to release an exciting array of exclusive, special, and one-off vinyl records which will only be available from participating shops.
The list of releases for the two drops can now be viewed on the official Record Store Day website. Here is the link.
As always, we will be ordering as much stock as we possibly can, especially on the most in demand titles. We will not know our allocated quantities on each of the releases until a week or so before the two drop dates, so at this stage we are unable to answer any specific enquiries on individual titles.
However, we can confirm that Record Store Day rules are the same as always. On Saturday 12th June and Saturday 17th July, stock will only be available to purchase over the counter in the shop on a first come, first served basis. Individual releases cannot be reserved or pre-ordered and it's a very strict maximum of 1 copy per customer for anything that's on the list. There is no set maximum on the number of different titles that can be bought from the list.
We are not yet in a position to announce the queuing arrangements for each of the Record Store Day drops. This will depend on government advice nearer the dates. However, we will give customers plenty of notice if we are required to set up an appointments system.
Online selling arrangements will also be made clearer soon, but this will only be for anything that hasn't sold over the counter in the shop before the online embargo time/date.
More details will be posted on here as soon as we get them, but it's also worth subscribing to our newsletter if you haven't already.
