For the past couple of years, Sam Akpro has been rising as one of the
brightest talents coming from the thriving UK alternative scene
Hailing from Peckham, South London, he incorporates elements of post-punk, wave,
dub, jazz and trip-hop, fueled by a fascinating range of infuences (from Joy Division
to SAULT, through Miles Davis, Talking Heads, Cocteau Twins, Dean Blunt, Fela Kuti,
Frank Ocean).
Fuzzy, moody and dreamy at times, 'Evenfall' paints a refreshing picture of life in the
London suburbs in your twenties. It's the light, the darkness and the slow passing of
time in an accomplished, genre-defying art form.
With this beautiful debut, Sam Akpro is destined to break through in 2025.
