Canblaster - Liberosis

LIBEROSIS, an album in three chapters, marks a signifcant milestone in
Canblaster's artistic journey
It presents an introspective odyssey through 18 tracks expertly mixed by Steve
Dub, renowned for his work as the sound engineer for the Chemical Brothers
(Canblaster's role models).
This record deftly navigates across the realms of pop, club, drum'n'bass, 2-step,
and dubstep, subverting their narrative and stylistic conventions while probing the
nature of the "drop" and human-machine dynamics.
Operating within an intermediary realm, it neither purely serves functional
purposes nor delves into conceptual abstraction. Instead, it conjures landscapes
evoking themes of apocalypse and renewal, hope and inevitability. Vocal
fragments in an enigmatic yet evocative language punctuate the sonic landscape,
reminiscent of the ethereal ambiance found in video game soundtracks like Final
Fantasy.
It's a world propelled by both human emotion and technical prowess, evoking the
spirit of Yellow Magic Orchestra and the late Ryuichi Sakamoto, albeit more in
essence than in direct musical infuence.
